Parents and ancestors are always important: they endow us with a genetic inheritance for better or for worse, for the balanced diet, for overfeeding or for starvation. The nurture and nutrition are our own responsibility; we make our choices and live with the consequences....

  1. If you hate taking horse pills then this is for you. These are small round pills that are easy to swallow. Recommended.

  2. Someone suggested I take vitamin c to help my allergies since I could no longer take my antihistamine. I was already taking a gummy vitamin c and was doubtful but did some research and decided to give this more organic and higher dosage a try and YES it made a huge difference for me. I had very bad hives and sneezing from an overactive immune system and I would get relief for several hours from the high potency vitamin c. Not all vitamins are on the same playing field. I highly recommend this brand.

I’ve been struggling with stress and burnout/exhaustion for the past few months. I have been taking a good quality multivitamin, B complex vitamins and a blend of adaptogenic herbs (Rhodiola etc.)Since I added this Vitamin C (one 500mg tablet twice daily – taken at breakfast and lunch) and another brand of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5) I have found that I’ve started feeling LOADS better. My energy is nowhere near 100% but finally I feel like I’m making progress! These tablets are quite large but since they’re chewable that doesn’t matter. They’re quite solid and crunchy but easy to eat. The flavour isn’t very strong, just a subtle tasty orange flavour with a bit of sweetener (not sugar).I have quite a delicate stomach at the moment and these tablets don’t have any negative impact.I will be more than happy to buy these again if I still need them when the bottle runs out.

  4. This is excellent quality Vitamin C, however; whenever I had taken it on an empty stomach, as in the morning before breakfast, it gave me severe stomach pains. I now take a capsule only after breakfast or a big snack. Just be careful!

  5. Constipation a definite problem with this product. Additionally, vitamin C helps keep herpes based issues at bay, including chronic shingles. This Vitamin C had NO effect whatsoever. In other Garden of Life products I have used for some time, bloodwork is reflecting Vitamins they claim are in their product, but are showing up as LOW levels (below normal range) in blood work. These sorts of things started soon after Nestle took the reins. Hmmmmmm.Good opportunity to switch over to an organic fermented regimen, preferably from a small company.

  6. I take it once or twice a day the bottle is HUGE with lots vitamin c in it 250 capsules and they are VEGAN the ingredients of viva vitamin C is great it has rosehips too !!! But but but .. I recently came across one of Dr.Greger’s videos explaining how the body gets the benefits of vitamins and minerals only from food ! I didn’t stop taking it but now I started using it by opening 1 capsule into my diy facials and treatments! It gives fantaaaastic results! .. if you want a good vitamin C try this one!Let me know if my review is helpful by clicking helpful. Thank you for reading!

  7. Updated review: Have to take away 2 stars. It’s tasty but is no replacement for citrus fruits! I find that when I don’t consume oranges, the skin around my nails will peel. The purpose of getting these is to not have to peel an orange all the time or consume orange juice (I find some brands make me itchy. Some that are apparently fine will later, on a future purchase, make me itchy).Unfortunately, this product is not a substitute for oranges. My skin still peels around the nails. There’s probably other nutrients which I need that only come in a real orange.Tasty candies, but I’ll have to pass on them in future as it’s just sugar pills to me now.—-Oh gosh! I have to remind myself these are NOT candies and to just have 1 a day! (I get Vitamin C from fruits too). They taste amazing!!!

  8. UPDATE (8/1/2019) I just wanted to add a quick update here. I am still 9 months later feeling like these are truly just the best. I want to be honest I am buying my 7th bottle since I wrote my last review and the reason is is that every so often I would try another (usually cheaper, since I’m on a fixed income & always looking for a cheaper but equivalent efficiency deal) and every time I felt worse, and let me tell you when you feel like I do worse is pretty much bedbound. I can honestly wholeheartedly say that these are truly the best Liposomal C I have ever taken and they work…they really and truly work. My body just is stronger and more resilient when I’m taking DACHA Vitamin C. (end update)* I have multiple health conditions (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, CFS/ME, Fibro, Degenerative Disc Disease, Arthritis to name a few) and have desperately been looking for different vitamins and supplements that will help me to have even a small improvement to my quality of life. My immune system is severely depleted and in my research I have found that many people feel an improvement when taking Liposomal Vitamin C. I came across this Liposomal Vitamin C and did lots of research and was very impressed so I ordered it to see if it would work for me. My immune system definitely got a large boost from DACHA Lipo Vitamin C. I have felt stronger and had more energy. I believe in the power of this product. I have tried many many many others and this is the only Liposomal Vitamin C that I could actually tell was helping to build me up. Of course all people are different but for me this has been amazing! If you are in need on Lipo Vitamin C (which I believe we all are) this is a great one to try.

  9. I purchased this product three weeks ago to help give my immune system a boost because I had a very bad sinus/ear infection and suffered a ruptured ear drum. I started to take this about three days after begining treatment with antibiotics and immediately started to feel improvements. To be specific, inflamation in my sinuses started to decrease and the icky stuff that was causing horrible congestion in my head started to drain. This has been a particularly nasty infection and there have been a few times that I felt like I was begining to relapse. At those times, I would take an extra dose of this vitamin C and get a little extra sleep. A few days ago, my doctor reported that there is no sign of infection, that my ear drum is healing nicely, that my hearing test results were good and that my hearing should be back to 100% in about three more weeks. I’ve been very pleased with this product in regards to what I purchased it for- getting over a bad infection quickly and not having to take more than one course of antibiotics to do so. But what I’m really amazed by is the way that my skin looks and feels since I’ve been taking it! It’s pretty rare to emerge from a bout of illness feeling rosy, soft and glowing! It’s a bonus that I did not expect but I’m very pleased with.

  10. Very palatable to chew if you like a very slightly sharp taste – very slightly (lemony?). Welcome vitamin C boost in convenient form. Especially good in winter to fight colds etc! Edit added, though I love the taste and like this version because I think the dose of 500mg is likely to be more absorbable to take at any one time than the manny pills which are 1000 mg – there is a problem: I have now realised about the additives, which are not nearly as bad as those in some other vitamin products by other manufacturers, but are still not good. For this reason I am not re-ordering for now, sadly. See my comment on of the answers to questions on this product for further info.Have ordered a food based vit c product instead (but would suggest avoiding any food based products containing grapefruit, which is contraindicated with a number of prescribed medications. Please note this comment does NOT apply to this product!)

  11. This is a quite remarkable product. I have ME/CFS for 11 years, but prior to that, for many many years, I have had painful post herpatic neuralgia down my left side. I believe this is due to a nasty shingles infection as a kid from which I never really recovered from. Anyhow, I am now on my second box of this supp. The post herpatic pain was really flaring up before starting this roduct as it is prone to do during the winter time due to the constant immune challenges of cough, cold and flus. I am delighted to report that this product has reduced my pain by about 90-95%. Sometimes the pain is unnoticeable which is a breakthrough for me. Also I must mention that the rest of the household are sick with flu at the moment and I seem completely impervious to it. That is quite unexpected. This is expensive stuff, and the gel is like imbibing some sort of weird orange phlegm but the fact that this frees me from pain makes it totally worth it. Hopefully in the summer I will be able to back off to a cheaper sup such as EsterC and keep this in for emergencies.

  12. I bought this product to help to improve my immune system and unlike so many other products that I have bought from here, (for other issues) they actually seem to work. For the first time in about 2 years I actually feel pretty good! 🙂 The only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars is because I’m using them with a slow release iron tablet, so it could be a combination of the 2, but I did use the iron tablet on it’s own before purchasing these and I didn’t feel this good, so who knows! They are not the easiest of tablet to swallow, but who cares if they work, will definitely buy again! 🙂

  13. Vitamin C, the cornerstone vitamin supplement. I’m not an alternate health nut, but I’m hovering nearby. And Vit C is super critical to maintain your health and lets not to forget that it prevents Scurvy as well. LOL. I don’t know one person who ever had Scurvy. But whoever thought up that name deserves kudos for name invention. Good name for a bad disease. But lack of Vit C can certainly throw your health out of whack in many ways. When I’m not lazy I make my own Lipo- C, but admittedly I’m lazy when it comes to spending the 1/2 hr. minimum time required to make up a good batch. Meanwhile, of all the Vitamin C brand supplements out there, this one definitely seems superior to me. It’s almost like you can feel it. My wife is prone to colds and flu. Often on the verge. Too many daily temperature changes on her job plus heavy public contact. This has worked to ward off her “coming down with something ” many a time. Regardless, I take one one in the morning and one before bedtime. I know my supplements and this one is a step above the rest. Strange though; Scottish Vit C. Who knew? Its not something I’d expect them to excel at, but whatever they do down at that Quali C factory makes this Vit C better than the others I’ve tried over the years.

  14. I hardly ever leave reviews – but this is a fantastic product…at least the vitamin C ones. Highly recommended for its great value and quality. The bottle is solid, there’s a metal lid, there are a ton of pills that – admittedly – are fairly sizeable, but still easy to get down. Also, I’m a Personal Trainer and I took courses on vitamins. The reason I bought these were specifically for the bioflavinoids – which are incredibly important and will help you not have nosebleeds if that is an issue you experience like me.Helps me not have them, and also boosts my immune system while I spend all day in a cesspool I.E a commercial gym with thousands of members and their germs.

  15. Great that it contains quite a few vitamins and minerals and it is effervescent, also it is sugar free but I suggest you read the label and small print before you decide to use this product. Also make sure you do not just rely on these vitamins you must include healthy balanced meals too.Although it does what it says on the tin for me the taste is not wonderful but using cold water improves the taste compared to using tepid water plus the cold water gives a slight fizzy sensation.

  16. I’ve just received these vitamins and will be updating this review based on any improvements or changes in my health.I’ve been taking these for a few days now and noticed my skin appears to be clearer than it usually is, and my stomach isn’t causing me much discomfort like it often does. It’s slow release which is great, so I take this with my breakfast.*note I’ve been taking this with Vitamin A

  17. Great brand, great vitamins. Also to the person that wrote there’s a tampon inside – it’s not a tampon you wally, it’s to keep the tablets dry.

  18. These things are truly amazing ! I get a boost of energy after taking so I’ve learned to not take any right before bed. Since learning of using high dosing vitamin c for illness I have taken 2 every 4 hours when I feel a fever or anything coming on & I have not gotten sick yet. I have 2 young children & last winter we were sick for the entire 5 months it seemed. This year I have been able to fight it all off with the high dosing when needed. Very grateful to have learned more about the effects.

  19. Fausse descriptions sur site sa dit prendre 2 par jours et sa bouteille sa dit 3 par jours, il a aussi artificielle sucrose, sirop de mais, colorant bande de menteurs,j’ai rote souvent….

  20. This is a round tablet. It’s not coated so it dissolves easily , but it may be harder for some people to swallow. It’s important to take vitamin C in smaller doses so you absorb it. Taking 1000 mg at once means most of it will go right through you. I take this one twice a day to help with my skin, nails (it helps produce collagen) and my immune system. According to consumerLabs, there are studies that suggest it might provide future protection from Alzheimer’s, strokes, heart (atrial fibrillation), and improve blood pressure. Nature’s Bounty was one of their top picks for Vitamin C higher dose. Taking extra vitamin C is especially important for anyone who smokes.

  21. These contain a blend of multivitamins including Vitamin A, which the information online and the packaging shown doesn’t mention. It’s a considerably broader spectrum than the brand leader, which is exactly what I wanted. They dissolve quickly (add a small amount of warm water from the kettle and then top up with cold) and are the most palatable effervescent vitamins I’ve taken – they remind me of cheap orange soda – which, compared to some brands that taste more like a dose of liver salts combined with saccharine, is a miracle. The price is far, far better than the cost in supermarkets and pharmacies, especially when you take into account the additional vitamins and that most places stick to just the brand leader.

  22. Taste good, and are good for you.Started taking them last year in Dec. And a year later we haven’t had a cold/flu or (knocks on wood) COVID.

Oh man ive been suffering for chronic tonsilitis for long time and my tonsil always swollen. Oh boy this rly boosted my immune system. No more tonsilitis and my throat feels much comfortable now. But remember before you say it doesn’t work, question yourself. Did you really take this every day for at least, at least 2 to 3 months. This isnt cure. You just have to be consistant

  24. So I got diagnosed with COVID. Best two weeks of my life. Lost my taste of taste/smell, go to the doctor, boom COVID. Two week quarantine with my buddy at his place= two week paid vacation from work to drink beer and play video games. No other symptoms but the taste and smell thing. This isn’t about COVID though its about the product.I took this coupled with a dosage of Vitamin-D3 and I felt healthy as an ox in no time, taste and smell came back after a few days too. I was able to enjoy my foods and beverages again.Easy to swallow, No bad flavors, Good product.Saved my life from COVID.

  25. This provides Ascorbic Acid in 1,000 mg capsules which is exactly what I’m looking for. It’s a descent price. It was delivered to me the next day.

  26. These are excellent value and a really good way to optimise vitamin C levels. Many people want to maximise this but the body can only absorb and process a small quantity at a time. My mother recommended I take a time release and usually I only have it in the winter but because of the pandemic I’m taking it once daily in the morning. If I feel at all like I might be getting ill or I might have been compromised I have another one twelve hours later but in general it’s not ideal for significant amounts of vitamin C to sit in the bladder overnight, so do consider that for your own situation. Some people who are obsessed with vitamin C are taking several grams a day and the side effects can be quite deleterious to health. Taking time release saves money, largely avoids side effects and provides a consistent bioavailable level that the body likes. It’s definitely the way to go. Ignore anyone who tells you to take 9g a day like I read the other day!

  27. We really like Vitafusion gummy vitamins, my wife and kids were severely picky with chewable or pill vitamins until we tried these out, now they happily eat them every day because they might as well be candy lol. They are a bit on the pricy side but they get my family to actually take their vitamins so that’s a win at least.

  28. I generally catch a cold/ flu at least 2-3 times per year since I was a kid. I have been taking one of these per day for the last year and a half and haven’t gotten sick once! I sometimes feel like I’m coming down with something but my body is able to fight it off before it develops. Great immune boosting properties!

  29. I suffer from a large number of health problems including severe allergies to almost everything it seems like. I also have a really bad immune system so fighting off infections and illnesses is really tough for me. My significant other works in a hospital and is always around germs, he also has a bad immune system. In our household Vitamin C is a necessity. We always have plenty of it on hand all throughout the year. We have tried many brands of Vitamin C supplements over the years, but Solgar Vitamin C is our absolute favorite among those that we’ve tried.Solgar Vitamin C capsules each contain 1,000 milligrams of Vitamin C and can be taken up to two times a day. When it comes to Vitamin C, 2,000 milligrams is the absolute maximum amount that you want to take in an average day. There are 250 capsules in the glass bottle. For someone like myself who is allergic to almost everything under the sun, Solgar Vitamin C capsules are free of all of the things I might possibly have an allergic reaction to. Solgar Vitamin C is free of: Gluten, What, Dairy, Soy, Yeast, Sugar, and Sodium.Solgar Vitamin C capsules do not contain artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors, or preservatives. Solgar Vitamin C capsules are also Vegan, Kosher, Water Soluble, and Non-GMO. Non-GMO is very important to our household due to my severe allergies.Ingredients: Serving size 1 capsule. Servings per bottle 250. Vitamin C (as L-ascorbic acid) 1,000 milligrams; Vegetable Cellulose; and Vegetable Magnesium Stearate.Solgar Vitamin C capsules are recommended for adults only. The dose is 1-2 capsules daily at mealtime. My doctor specifically instructed me to take my Vitamin C supplement after breakfast and after dinner so that a constant amount of Vitamin C remains in my system. Our household uses Solgar Vitamin C capsules for a number of different reasons. During cold and flu season both myself and my significant other take 2,000 milligrams daily as an immune system boost. That’s not to say we never get sick, but when we do it’s usually milder than it would have been otherwise. When the pandemic started we both started taking 2,000 milligrams of Vitamin C daily to help boost our immune systems. Even with the immune system boost, I still managed to get Covid-19 twice and my significant other has managed to avoid it all together. My significant other has started taking 2,000 milligrams of Vitamin C daily at his doctor’s direction. His doctor stressed that at his age (65 almost 66 years old) he can use all of the help he can to preserve the collagen in his body. He had a knee replacement surgery in 2015 and can’t afford collagen loss.Due to eating at a fast food place that had bad meat, I ended up getting pinworms. I had a really hard time getting rid of them, even the pyrantel for pinworms didn’t completely eliminate them. My doctor had me take high doses of Vitamin C daily and it killed off the pinworms in my system.Solgar makes their supplements in small batches and has been for over 70 years. Their supplements are more expensive than other brands, but they are one of the purest and cleanest supplement brands on the market. Yes Solgar Vitamin C is more expensive, but we feel like it’s worth the price. Some brands of Vitamin C capsules go right through your system and you can find them in the toilet in their original form. I have not had this problem with Solgar Vitamin C capsules so I assume they are breaking down in my system correctly which is likely due to the vegetable based capsule.Solgar Vitamin C capsules come in glass bottle that is amber in color. I like to think that the bottle’s color helps protect the capsules from light which could break them down overtime. The glass bottle is recyclable and made from 50% broken or trashed glass.Vitamin C is always best if you can get it from the foods that you eat. Due to my allergies to almost everything I do not have a very healthy diet I take Vitamin C supplements. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruit, peppers, strawberries, black currants, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and potatoes.Be sure to talk to your doctor before you start taking Solgar Vitamin C capsules. Many doctors will recommend eating a diet that is high in fruits and vegetables containing Vitamin C rather than taking a Vitamin C supplement. Fresh squeezed orange juice is the best way to get your daily dose of Vitamin C.Experts suggest that taking 1,000 milligrams of Vitamin C daily while sick with Covid-19 can lessen the severity and duration of the illness. Unfortunately I did not find this to be the case and the second case of Covid-19 I got was very severe despite taking Vitamin C daily.Experts and doctors all have different opinions on conditions that Vitamin C can treat. Vitamin C may be effective for treating scurvy, anemia, low red blood cell levels, irregular heartbeat, common cold, arm and leg injuries, airway infections, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, lead poisoning, and skin wrinkles. You should always check with your doctor before taking Vitamin C for any of the conditions listed above. Your doctor will decide if a Vitamin C supplement is right for you, how much you should take, how often you should take it, and how long you should take it for.Side effects that can occur while taking Vitamin C supplements are: nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach cramps, headaches, diarrhea, and kidney stones.I suffer from Fibromyalgia and have a hard time breaking down a lot of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin C is one of those vitamins I have a hard time breaking down. Because of this I suffer from chronic kidney stones regardless of which brand of Vitamin C supplements that I use. Kidney stones are very painful.Vitamin C is safe for pregnant women and women who are breast feeding. For women over 19 years of age, the maximum daily dose is 2,000 milligrams. For women 14-18 years of age the maximum daily dose is 1,800 milligrams. Exceeding these limits can cause problems for the newborn baby.Vitamin C should be taken in small amounts by children. Children 1-3 years of age should not exceed 400 milligrams daily. Children 4-8 years of age should not exceed 650 milligrams daily. Children 9-13 years of age should not exceed 1,200 milligrams daily. Children 14-18 should not exceed 1,800 milligrams daily.People who consume alcohol on a regular basis might need to take a Vitamin C supplement because the body excretes Vitamin C in urine. That is the reason that many alcoholics have a Vitamin C deficiency. Smoking lowers Vitamin C levels so smokers or chewing tobacco users should take a supplement.A Vitamin C deficiency can also lead to kidney disease and increase the amount of oxalate in the urine which can cause kidney failure in people with kidney disease. If you suffer from heartburn like I do (I have GERD and Esophagitis) you have to be careful what antacids you take. While taking Vitamin C supplements you need to avoid antacids that contain Aluminum. Take Vitamin C 2 hours before or 4 hours after antacids containing Aluminum.Medications that may interfere with Vitamin C: Estrogens, Fluphenazine, Prolixin, Protease Inhibitors for HIV/AIDS, Chemotherapy, Statins, Atorvastatin, Lipitor, Fluvastatin, Lescol, Lovastatin, Mevacor, Pravastatin, Pravachol, Niacin, Warfarin, Coumadin, Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate, Trilisate, Nicardipine, Cardene, Nifedipine, Salsalate, and Disalcid. One thing that I wish I would have known about before I started taking Vitamin C is the fact that Vitamin C slows down the absorption of Acetaminophen in the body. I noticed my pain did not decrease after taking Acetaminophen regularly and then I felt drugged later. Turns out too much was still in my system that had not yet broken down due to the Vitamin C I was taking.A similar thing occurs when you take Aspirin with Vitamin C. The ability to break down Aspirin is decreased while taking Vitamin C. This causes you to have more side effects and to feel the need to take Aspirin more frequently. It’s important to note that Solgar Vitamin C capsules contain way more than the daily recommended dose of Vitamin C. The recommended doses are: 90 milligrams-Men; 75 milligrams-Women. 115 milligrams for Pregnant and Lactating Mothers under 18 and 120 milligrams for mothers 19-50 years old.Tobacco users should take an additional 35 milligrams of Vitamin C per day. Adolescents, Pregnant Women, and Lactating Women 14-18 shouldn’t exceed 1,800 milligrams a day. Adults, Pregnant, and Lactating Women over 18 shouldn’t exceed 2,000 milligrams a day.Vitamin C recommended dosing for children: 0-12 Months: 30-35 milligrams daily. 1-3 years: 15 milligrams daily. 4-8 years 25 milligrams daily. 9-13 years: 45 milligrams daily. 14-18 years boys 75 milligrams daily. 14-18 years girls 65 milligrams daily. At the end of the day there are a lot of Vitamin C supplements on the market. I tried many different ones for years to find the right supplement for me. Our household loves Solgar Vitamin C. Note I am not a doctor so make sure to follow your doctor’s advice for taking Vitamin C or any supplement.

  30. After opening package, I thought I had ordered a package that came in set of 3 Nature Made C 500mg as advertised. I’m not going to order any more at this time. I don’t want to return the one I have because it’s the brand & size (60 softgels) I wanted.
