Psoriasis Home Remedies

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disease. It is usually characterised by the appearance of thick patches of skin that flake off (peel off in white ‘scales’). The patches appear on different parts of the body, most commonly on the elbows, knees and scalp. They leave areas of red skin. This chronic disease progresses in cycles, with periods of remission. It is not contagious and can be well controlled with topical psoriasis treatment.[1] To manage the best psoriasis treatment is probably to do it with a good psoriasis treatment cream and psoriasis home remedies. Curcumin, apple cider vinegar, boswellia and tea tree oil are probably the best natural remedies for psoriasis. There are also home remedies for scalp psoriasis.

What clears psoriasis fast?

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with both physical and psychological impacts. It’s not easy to choose the best topical psoriasis treatment. Local anti-inflammatory treatments with vitamin D have been shown to reduce inflammation and scaling.Small cases can be treated with corticosteroid creams that treat the inflammation. But when psoriasis affects more than 20-30% of the body surface, it is more effective to take an oral treatment.[4] Moderate to severe psoriasis can be treated with phototherapy, i.e. exposure to ultraviolet light in a doctor’s surgery. UV light calms the itching and reduces the extent of the plaques. If psoriasis is resistant to these treatments, or if it develops into psoriatic arthritis, the last resort is to inject monoclonal antibodies that specifically target a mediator of the inflammation that causes the disease. This is called biotherapy.[5]

What is the main cause of psoriasis?

Psoriasis is caused by an immune dysfunction that leads to chronic and exaggerated inflammation of the skin and an overproduction of keratinocytes, the keratin-producing cells that make up most of the epidermis.[6]Read more: What is the main cause of psoriasis?

  1. I was diagnosed with psoriasis 3 years ago, something that still has no cure. It causes so much irritation and burning that it is horrible to live with. But thanks God I found this page with several medicinal plants against psoriasis. Now I have been trying milk thistle extract for a month. I have noticed a slight improvement, I don’t really expect miracles but something that relieves the burning. As I consume it longer I will surely notice the difference so I am very hopeful about this.

  2. I love taking a bath with Epsom Salts, this is so relaxing and especially for my skin problem. It helps me a lot with psoriasis. Unfortunately this has no cure yet but this salt helps me to control the symptoms. I use it very often, it’s something I can’t miss.

  3. The aloe vera gel was a godsend, it really helped relieve the aches and burning that psoriasis causes. I also liked that it had a thicker consistency. I love it. This is a must have because it is so refreshing for my skin. Much needed in my life.

  4. I ordered it because I am undergoing treatment for psoriasis. Tea tree oil is known to help soothe the aches and pains and even helps reduce swelling. I put a small amount on a cotton pad every day and leave it on. After a while, the swelling is noticeably reduced. You have to be careful when pouring it on because it comes out quickly. (No pun intended). The smell is strong, but tea tree oil has a distinctive odor. Be sure to dilute it before applying.

  5. I love this Aloe Vera healing gel. Incredible healing power on cuts and bruises, in general for the skin. My husband suffers daily due to Psoriasis disease and this gel helps him quite a bit, at least it relieves his pains a lot and makes the burning pass. We have been using this for at least 4 years.

  6. I take milk thistle to help the skin problems I have (psoriasis). I can say that this has helped me quite a bit, hopefully helping other fellow sufferers. It has relieved the affected parts of my skin quite a bit. I’m sure this has more health benefits for me as well, so it has become a daily supplement for me.

  7. There are many benefits of fish oils. This one does not taste or smell like anything. The capsule is flexible and easy to swallow. I have been taking it for 1 month because I read that it can help with psoriasis symptoms. I look forward to seeing the positive effects on my skin as well.

  8. This shower Epsom Salts is a great alternative to traditional body wash for people with psoriasis. I was skeptical at first, but I am desperate to get some relief with my recent flare-up. Normally, coming out of the shower psoriasis can sting, burn or feel tight. After using this, my psoriasis felt nothing, which is amazing. I didn’t feel like I had anything. It didn’t really improve the flaking of the skin but it did improve the texture and redness and irritation. I would highly recommend it for someone with severe psoriasis looking for relief in every way possible.

  9. Ok, I have been suffering from moderate to severe plaque psoriasis and I hate it. I was very skeptical about this Tea Tree Oil, but I bought it in hopes that it would help. It has been 3 days and I am already seeing improvements. Some of the areas with flaking have reduced considerably. Many people said it would take weeks, but I am pleasantly surprised at how fast it is working. I expect that every day in the future I will see even less flaking. I am loving this oil so far. The taste is a little ugly to me but it’s a pretty muted taste when you wash it off with water. I have already recommended it to a few friends.

  10. My husband suffered for years and years from psiorasis. The doctors only gave him ointments and creams. Three weeks ago he got much worse.
Then I read that Extra Virgin Olive Oil can help. I was desperate to help him in any way I could. When she started applying it she doubted if this really worked. Now she is in the third week. This oil really works. Her skin is clearing up of flakes and itching and irritation.
    I really recommend it.
    Thank you

  11. I have had psoriasis for more than 10 years. Sometimes the outbreaks are so bad that I don’t want to go out in public. My arms and hands get covered and I’m so embarrassed because people don’t know or understand what it is. In winter, I can wear long sleeves, but in summer, long sleeves are miserable. I’ve tried just about EVERYTHING, but nothing has worked. A relative suggested Epsom Salts for psoriasis, this relative said it worked for him. I was skeptical as always, because of my previous experiences trying this and that, so my mother ordered it for me.
I was determined to continue for the full 3 months. I am so excited and blessed to have found something that is working for me. I didn’t take before and after pictures because I didn’t think it was going to work anyway….. It should have. If you have been diagnosed with psoriasis, and you are skeptical, like me….. TRY THIS PRODUCT!!! It worked for me when nothing else did!!!!
