  1. I’m still taken them and need to order more so must be good, I assume they are helping, I have read a lot about the benefits of Astaxanthin but after just one month it is probably too soon to feel any affects, but I have faith.

  2. I had been taking Astaxanthine on its own but decided to give it a go with the black current as I had been having problems focusing especially on the computer. Really good results, I have been taking it for a couple of weeks and my eyes are much better. no straining or headaches. Really pleased.

  3. good product

  4. I was told by my optician that I had the beginnings of a cataract in one eye and would have to ‘live with it’ until it was ready for surgery. I don’t do ‘live with it’ so, after a number of months researching my own solution, I decided to try Astaxanthin and Blackcurrant. I should have noted dates but failed to do so. However, after just a few weeks of taking the product, first at one capsule twice per day and building to two capsules three times per day, I ‘saw’ results. I had the sensation of walking into a cobweb. I brushed my face with my hand but realised there was nothing there and what I was seeing was a shower of floaters across my eye. Another optician at the same practice as the first said he could find no cataract and sent me to the eye hospital, where the specialist gave the same verdict. My cataract seems to have broken up and is now gradually disappearing, my eye is more comfortable and it no longer waters as it did previously. Fabulous product! I have reduced my dose to four capsules per day but will continue to take them indefinitely.

  5. I won’t make any health claims for this product since anyone taking Astaxanthin should already be aware of those and results would be very subjective, but Astaxanthin is one of the supplements that has a lot of research behind it and is well worth the cost. I gave this five stars instead of the four I would normally give a supplement without independent lad verification. For any supplement, without an independent lab verifying the ingredients, dosage, and lack of manufacturing chemicals, we just have to take their word for it. However, I am inclined to believe this company’s commitment to their product and manufacturing process, they appear to take their manufacturing process very seriously and they comply with the stricter European regulations (EC 1881/2006 and amendment EC 629/2008) regarding mercury (Hg) contamination of food supplements (NMT 0.1 ppm).Beyond that it has the proper recommended dose (12mg.). I noticed that many of the competing products did not and even stated the strength in misleading terms. You only need to take a single gelcap to get this dose, so it is a true 60-day supply. The oil base is best for this kind of supplement and the source (microalgae from Iceland) is a plus. It is also a very good price for this product. I also like the blister packaging, it makes it easy to take when you travel. Finally, the price is very reasonable. I have tried several different brands, but I have the most confidence in this brand and will continue to use it. If you are concerned about manufacturing (and you should be with any supplement) go to their website for more information algalifeusa.com

  6. Been taking for @14 mo. great product and what has done for my skin is amazing [66yr.] cleared up dry patches on both elbows, got the glow and along with that can tell a improvement in my eyesight. Here is the rub; every time I reorder the price goes up-do not mind paying for things that work but I am by no means wealthy-in 41days they hiked this product over $7.00. I feel there is a difference in quality control and being taken advantage of no doubt you are all aware their are only 50 gels per bottle.where I come from that’s price gouging. Going to shop around for a more reasonable supplier.Hope this finds you all well and happy

  7. I have been using this amazing BioAStin for now over 4 months and can fee the difference. Love the fact this product is vegan.Have already recommended to all my friends and family

  8. In the past, I have used BioAstin Astaxanthin for my 98 year old mother and I. For one reason or another, we got away from using it – probably just to cut back on the supplements we were taking. Having rediscovered the benefits of this supplement, I decided to try the NOW brand Astaxanthin. In comparing the ingredients they are exactly the same. With the NOW brand, you get 2 mg less per softgel than the 12 mg BioAstin, but you get 10 more softgels for less with the NOW brand. At this time, you can get the BioAstin brand on subscription, but even with 15% off, the NOW brand costs less when considering the addition of 10 more pills. .If you have not already researched the benefits of astaxanthin and what it is, I have included some of the information I have found:• Eye Health – The structure of Astaxanthin is similar to lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that have been shown to reduce the risk of nuclear cataracts. But, while similar, Astaxanthin has a stronger antioxidant activity and UV-light protection effect, both of which point to it being an excellent supplement for eye health maintenance. Has been found to have protective benefits against vision problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and many others.• Skin Health – Astaxanthin has been shown to help improve skin moisture levels, elasticity, and smoothness while reducing wrinkles, freckles, and spots, and helps to prevent and repair sun damage to the skin.• Astaxanthin’ s antioxidant properties have also been shown to help improve heart heath, cellular health, and the body’s immune system.• Joint and tendon support – can help to reduce pain and inflammation in tendons, joints, and muscles, including osteo or rheumatoid arthritis.• Supports increased energy• Brain health support, and can cross the blood/brain barrier to protect the brain and nervous system• Works in every part of the body, organs and skin• Supports a healthy oxidative balance. It does not oxidize after it does its job like many other antioxidants do.• Can handle many different types of free radicals simultaneously as most antioxidants can handle one type of free radical at a time and tend to prefer one type.UPDATE 6/29/18:Although I do believe that dietary supplements are necessary to provide the nutrients that our foods, grown in depleted soil, can no longer supply, I don’t believe that any supplement is an immediate miracle cure for anything. Most often, the effects, if any, for any supplement is seen in the long-term. I am 71 years old with developing cataracts that are very small at this time, but wanted to halt their development. I have also been having the common reduction of close vision related to aging. My 96 year old mother has a pacemaker that her heart is gradually not responding to as well as it used to. I bought this supplement primarily to help my eyes and my mother’s heart. I have been taking this supplement for only 3 days, and, of course, have seen no improvement in the areas that I bought it for.Surprisingly, I am seeing benefits that I didn’t expect, especially in such a short time. For quite a while, by the time I get dinner cooked and my mother finished her dinner, I have felt drained. I had to force myself to get everything done to get my mother to bed, and then had no energy left. The last couple of days I have energy after dinner, and have been able to get more done after my mother went to bed without feeling tired or drained. My mother, who has dementia and aphasia, has been staying awake more hours and seems to be more interactive. The only change for both of us has been the addition of this supplement. Now if it can help my eyes and my mother’s heart, I will scream praises for this supplement. I’m sure both of these will be long-term effects if they happen.

  9. Excellent Produxt My Macular Degeneration is reversing since I started this product 3 years ago.

  10. Extremely unhappy. Product description state 120 count only Recieved 60 tablets. Requesting my money back or an additional bottle.

  11. I was turned on to Astaxanthin by a massage therapist friend of mine, who is affiliated with a holistic wellness center. I shared with him my desire to finally get off of the 75mg of Wellbutrin I had been taking (down from 300MG). I contacted my doctor to let her know this is what I was planning on doing, and I started out by taking 12 mg/day (along with other supplements, a very clean diet, and regular exercise/meditation routine). So far, so good! I can’t say for sure that it’s just the Astaxanthin that’s been helping, because I have many other things I do to help curb anxiety/depression. Being aware of my thought patterns, and being able to name my emotions is definitely up there on the list of how I’ve been able to stop all pharmaceuticals. I will be keeping this as part of my regime, as I trust NOW products, and I’m doing really well mentally/emotionally.

  12. Solgar are good quality. I read that astaxanthin is good for eyes, cholesterol and all kinds of amazing things. I started taking it for my sight which seemed to be less clear in one eye. I have been taking these for a few months now and I think I have improvement. I had been taking vitabiotics for eyes daily, however, I think I have an improvement since taking these. my friend takes a higher dose together with other eye supplements as her sight was affected by diabetes and she has found supplements have improved her eye health. its worth trying, but down to personal experience. i’m not plugging these. just simply giving my own personal experience

  13. Really love this product and have sent some to my son too. I completed the ‘Three easy ways to identify fake astaxanthin test’,today, and it passed with flying colours! So, I know that this is a quality product and will continue to take it and know that I can trust this company. You can do the test yourself if you want to be sure.

  14. As most have stated Solgar is a trusted and recommended brand. The soft gels are small and easy to take with water. After a lot of research I purchased this product for its strength in mg. Reason being your body will only intake a certain amount like most things. Just started these about a week ago so hence why only 4 stars. But arrived on time with good packaging as always.

  15. I started taking astaxanthin. It’s the only supplement I’ve been taking. I’m 48 years old and have had eye floaters for a few years now. I was told they were permanent. They don’t really affect my vision, but I’m pretty aware of them on bright days. I’ve been taking the astaxanthin for a month maybe. I started taking it because I bruise easily and if I eat carotenoids, I bruise less harshly. Since astaxanthin is a powerful carotenoid, I thought I’d be able to skip eating tomato paste every day. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it’s clear skies and sun today. I was working outside and realized my eye floaters were gone. Well, almost. There were a couple of tiny dots that I had to really focus on to see. Before, I had a long line cobwebby one that was very prominent and it’s simply gone! I wasn’t expecting that. It later dawned on me that the only thing different was that I’ve been taking astaxanthin. I’m still in a bit of disbelief. For what my anecdotal testimony is worth, it may be something worth exploring if you have eye floaters too. I can’t wait until my next eye exam to see if the doc can verify that I’m not crazy.

I’ve been in excruciating pain for 19 years. Yes you read that right. I’ve had 2 knee replacements and multiple surgeries and nothing and I mean nothing has eased any of my pain. I don’t even know how I stumbled on this. I guess it’s a God wink. I take 1 a day with lunch. It took a good 2 weeks to kick in. I can say I have NO PAIN anywhere in my body. I went to my doctor on June 18,2019 and was taken off of 4 medications. I am also doing no carb no sugar diet to lower A1C and I feel like I’m 20 years younger. Everyone I see say that I’m glowing I wire my pain on my face. No hiding it. I’m 69 and I’ll never be without Bio Astin. Never!!!!! I also take 1 dropper of CBD OIL. I guess the combo may be the answer. I don’t know but I’m telling you to buy this and never stop taking it. Everyone has a different way something kicks in, if ever. Don’t give up. Thank You Lord Jesus. I’m not getting paid or received anything for this review. This is my own words.

  17. Recommended by a friend and never looked back

  18. I’m a nutritional therapist (College of Naturopathic Medicine) and these are the supplement I take and recommend. Highly effective and very good value for money.

  19. Since taking this supplement my hip joints are less painful. I take astaxanthin along with Krill oil from the same company. I truly am pleased with the results. I am a 66 year old female and walk and hike about 2 miles 5 days a week.I also might add my endurance seems to be better, and my mental focus is much better. I am on my feet all day at work. I highly recommend this supplement and I like this company.

  20. One thing I’ve noticed is my gray hair is starting to grow in less gray! I thought I was imagining it at first, but it’s really happening. This is the only supplement I’m taking that could be causing this phenomenon.

  21. I will be 80 years old this month and I have found this supplement to make a profound difference in how I feel. It helps joint pain as well as helps build up immune systems. With all the benefits found in the following study you can’t go wrong with this product. I have used other supplements from this company and they are very reputable and safe. Study found Astaxanthin was 6,000 times stronger than vitamin C, 800 times stronger than CoQ10, 550 times stronger than green tea catechins and 75 times stronger than alpha lipoic acid.

  22. I have bought these after reading an online review, however I have not noticed any difference.I started out for one week with 12mg, then reduced to 8mg and now Itake them for the last 2 weeksat 4mg.As I mentioned, I cannot feel any difference with my body after taking these supplements.

  23. I saw a doctor talk about this vitamin on Dr. Oz and have been using it for years and found it helpful. The lutin since I started taking this has truly been great for y eyes. I am in my late 70s and every checkup my vision improved. It is now almost 20/20. I attribute it to the Astaxanthin

  24. I don’t know this company very well, but I am used to taking astaxanthin. I know it comes highly recommended, but for me, it isn’t good. At first, its like burping shrimp-like oil. Then it worsens with acid reflux issues that I don’t normally have anymore. But with this, I do; and it lasts all day long… I’m going back with the last one I used. If I can find it :/ If you don’t have any heartburn or digestive issues, I guess it could be good.

  25. I use this as a sunscreen: 2-3 an hour before sun exposure. I’m really white so I usually burn but not anymore! I always come back to this brand. This really works, at least for me 🙂

  26. as advertised

  27. This is the most tan I have ever been, and I am someone who usually just turns red! So happy that it actually works and that there are other health benefits for taking this too.

  28. Gives me balanced energy and I can see some weight loss without me changing any habits (I don’t know if that’s truly a feature, though, but maybe?). Inflammation pain is lessened.

  29. When I opened my bottle there was a very strong chemical smell like paint. My family members had a whiff and agreed it’s not my imagination.I tried taking 1 and ended up with an upset stomach with cramps and nausea.Returned it the next day. This is very worrying and suggests poor quality control and no regard for product safety. The supplement industry is disturbingly lacking in regulation. I’ll stick to brands I can trust and won’t buy anything from this company again. Before posting my review I noticed there’s many negative reviews saying the same thing, “smell of chemicals/paint/solvents”, especially in the international reviews.

  30. I take to alleviate swelling and pain in joints. This product has improved my life.

  31. I’m a big fan of astaxanthin for the many benefits it provides. Did you know that it is 6000 times stronger than Vitamin C? Wow! It is what gives salmon its pretty color as well. We all know how good salmon is for us, and the astaxanthin it contains is one of the reasons. This works as advertised. Arthritis is not as painful, and both my husband and I even feel like we have a more energy. I also purchased this for my mother, and she has the same good report. It keeps us feeling healthy and well, for sure. I like this brand very much. It’s very “clean”; it doesn’t have lots of fillers and unnecessary ingredients. Absolutely recommend!

  32. Didn’t do anything

Great quality and real astaxanthin (so many fake products out there, this is the real stuff).I have tried to save some money by trying cheaper brands, only to find they had fake astaxanthin. Some were even the wrong colour, they had some weak charcoal grey oil in it.In the pic it’s only about 1/10th of the content (not a whole capsule) spread on a piece of paper. This is how it should look like! (there are other tests too that can be done).l am sticking to Solgar as I have the confidence this is the real stuff.

  34. I don’t know if it’s just me, but this product seriously irritated my bowels, and I was taking it with meals containing healthy fats for improved absorption. I was taking it for roughly 2 weeks and suffered from orange extremely unpleasant bowel movements – the moment I stopped taking, they subsided. A total waste of 50$, be warned.

  35. SEARCH : astaxanthin is taken by mouth to prevent sunburn, to improve sleep, and for carpal tunnel syndrome, dyspepsia, male infertility, symptoms of menopauseAntioxidant. …Cancer. …The skin. …Exercise supplement. …Heart health. …Joint pain. … two weeks, and more likely four to eight weeks, for the drug to produce the desired effects. Fortunately, Natural Astaxanthin is absolutely healthy, even though it takes longer to function than prescription anti-inflammatories and over-the-counter pain relievers.

  36. I think it’s great product and I take it because it makes me feel healthier.

  37. So far not very happy? Use it for pain relief and for skin as description on bottle.

  38. Great quality. I have been using other brands for 10 plus years and some brands you can feel the difference when you switch, good or bad. I was using a high quality brand before this that really worked great but was much more expensive in smaller quantities. This brand is more affordable and is in larger quantities and is still high quality. When switching over to it I noticed no change in my symptoms which is good showing it works as good as the other expensive brand I was using.

  39. I have been using this for years and have learned it is frequently substituted within manmade form that is less effective. Now brand is the real thing so it’s the only one I purchase. Love that I can subscribe and never run out.

  40. Good value for the money

  41. J’ai été surprise, j’ai ressenti des bénéfices après quelques jours d’utilisation

  42. Order arrived quickly. These are gentle on the stomach and no bad taste. I have been taking these for about a week – 2 x a day. In fairness I can’t comment on the product in terms of benefits as it is early days but I’m pleased so far. I think I need to give them at lease 2-3 months to really see and feel the benefit of this supplement but I’m my opinion this is a quality product and one of the better brands in terms of ingredients used.

Productos de muy buena calidad, 30 pastas pequeñas y empaque pequeño

  44. While I like this astaxanthin, I cannot understand the wild price swings i am seeing in this company’s astaxanthin products. This 90 count bottle, for example ,was ~$17 and change less than a year ago, then jumped ~$24, then fell back a little , now it is at $33.94 !! Same with 60 count bottle, it was low, now has went up 50% suddenly. It seems like very arbitrary actions with no logical basis or reflection of demand.

  45. I am a senior and need all the help I can get for aging eyes. Seems to be helping.
