Interesting. Who knew concentrated basil picked up nuances of licorice/fennel?I see some reviewers lamenting over the weird smell from the bottle, as it isn’t quite like the basil in your spice rack. However, I assure you the aromatic culinary basil smell will come through when you put the oil in your diffuser. Many essential oils smell odd when concentrated and undiluted (agarwood, a prized perfume ingredient, supposedly smells like poop undiluted!) So fear not the licorice smell, this is 100% authentic unadulterated basil oil!
Ok… I was hoping to buy a Basil essential oil that smells like, well, fresh picked basil. I should have done my research. I would say this has an aroma of more like black licorice, with a very slight hint of basil. But that’s how basil oil is supposed to smell. And whoa is it strong! Lots of medicinal uses, so I will keep it. Just not my favorite for adding to lotions, etc. Lovely company tho’. Excellent quality.
this is a very potent essential oil and works better than the thirty plus other home remedies for warts i tried over the past 8 weeks to no avail…warts dying within 2-3 days…I applied two-three times daily….it has a unique warming/cooling effect….feels warmer than oregano oil at first, but then leaves a refreshing tingly cooling sensation like a rosemary, wintergreen, or peppermint….be VERY careful not to get into eyes (wash hands after application), smells wonderful, also feels soothing, tingling on an itchy scalp or skin….I liked it so much, I have ordered their bergamot which is my favorite eo

My husband is from Indonesia where they have real sandalwood trees so it has been hard to find a brand that lives up to his expectations of smell and quality – after trying several brands, my husband is finally happy with Rainbow Abby. I used this after suffering intense pain in my neck arm, shoulder shoulder blade for over a week. I was at the point of tears. I had taken pills, used patches, rubs, massages heating pads rice socks. Once applied I felt immediate relief. Basil is an anti inflammatory and I had been dealing with inflammation. I am 95% better and know I will be 100% with continued use. I mixed the basil with a carrier oil and took it internally as well as applied to the aggravated area. Thank the lord for this because I didn’t know what to do and the pain was getting the better of me. Extremely hard to drive, sleep and function on the job. My fingers were going numb, nerves in my arm contracting spasms on the right side of my body. Nothing was helping until Iistened to my higher self asked the right question and did the right thing
I have tried different brands of essential oils over the years, and some are not as good as others. I can tell that Plant Therapy is a high quality essential oil and they always have a good price. I used this Basil Linalool in my massage oil to help with pain and inflammation, and it works great!

This is a wonderful oil. I needed it to make a blend for ear aches. Essential oils are Awesome. I am a Aromatherapy Practitioner and this my favorite brand of oils. The prices are very affordable.

I’ve used basil oil for many years in homemade beauty products/soaps as it’s brilliant for clearing up especially dry skin/dry patches and gently evening out skin tone as a mild but effective home exfoliation treatment as well as really hydrating and nourishing the skin well and also helps carry other oils I add. Seems very good quality on that front as is the bottle and is well presented in the little box but even though this is therapeutic grade oil and pretty decent it’s slightly more than I usually pay for a 15ml bottle so I’d probably stick to the other one I get online in the future but would come back to this if my regular was not available.
I love using this oil not only in my blends with citrus or floral essential oil e.g. grapefruit, lemon, lavender and geranium but also in my diffuser when I want a vibrant, energizing and uplifting scent in my living room.The current price for the 15ml bottle I received to review is £ 9.25 however the 30ml bottle currently costs just a few pence more at £ 9.45 so when I buy my next bottle I will buy the larger bottle. I like the glass bottle and tight closure of the plastic top although I can still detect some of the aroma. Unfortunately the top is not a child safety cap so it is important to make sure that it is kept out of reach and out of sight of children.There is no safety information on the bottle however Greenwood Essential have given a lot more instructions online in the ‘Essential oil Quick tips for using essential oils safely’ page which cover all safety aspects. I recommend anyone new to aromatherapy to read them as it’s too easy to underestimate their potent effects.
