This is the best almond flour I have used. It makes great muffins, pancakes and even donut holes. If you are looking for a fine textured almond flour this is it. Plus the price is comparable if not betterthan the store brands. Update: 9/7/16…this is still the least expensive almond flour at less than $7.50per pound for the 5 lb bag. If you buy the 25 lb bag, which I am considering, the price is $6.40 per pound..Keep in mind you can store almond flour in the fridge and the freezer. And if you bake or cook just aboutevery meal like I do then this is life saver in the kitchen. I have added pictures of what I made with thealmond flour so far. 10/18/20 As of today, I still continue to use this brand of almond flour. It outperforms most brands available. I finally was able to make a red velvet cake that is 100% grain free using this almond flour. It really makes a difference.
I use this particular brand of almond flour because I’ve achieved the best results for french macarons using it. The super fine texture saves me some time when I sift and process the dry ingredients for a smooth macaron finish. You know when the baker uses sub-par almond flour or hasn’t ground up the flour into a fine enough texture when the texture of your macs are grainy and sandy. With this flour, I haven’t had that problem. I wish this particular brand and super fine texture was available ALL THE TIME! If you are trying to make macs or anything that requires a smooth and non grainy texture, I would recommend this super fine almond flour.
Yupik Almond PowderLove it! I use it for making macaron, I skip the food processor and go straight to sieving it with the icing sugar. I will be buying this again.
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes while pregnant so regular flour isn’t going to work for me. I bought this on a whim to make some cookies and was very impressed! Good almond taste that isn’t overpowering in baking and it’s very fine, which makes it very similar to regular flour (my husband hasn’t noticed). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a flour alternative with some extra health benefits!
This is the 3rd time I’ve ordered this brand of almond flour. We use it for our keto breads, breading/coatings, pizza crust, and are just starting to experiment with using it for making desserts. The flavor is great and the texture is soft and fluffy, perfect for cooking and baking! Try mixing about 1/3 cup almond flour with a cup of any flavor crushed pork rinds (try the hot and spicy….yum) and your favorite spices. Dip raw chicken pieces, chicken breast, or chicken strips in egg, then coat in almond flour/pork rind mixture and either pan fry or bake until done. So good!
Love this product! I need to keep my sugars low and this allows me to continue to enjoy baked goods that double as meals.A favorite quick and easy crowd pleasing low-carb keto-friendly recipe I created with this product is a skillet shortcake. I’m not big on measuring, so these are all estimates… adjust to your liking.1. Put 2 Tbsp butter (or use ghee, if you have it) in a skillet and heat to medium heat.2. Melt butter in microwave (3 Tbsp), then whisk in rest of ingredients in this order:1/2 cup Splenda (or equivalent sweetness of low-glycemic not-sugar of your choice),1/2 tsp vanilla extract,1/2 tsp almond extract,1/3 cup full-fat sour cream,2 eggs2/3 cup Blanched Almond Flour3. When the mixture is about the consistency of thick pancake batter (reminds me of cornbread batter), pour into hot buttered skillet and smooth it out with back of your spoon so it lies evenly in shape of a giant pancake.4. When it looks like only the top is still “wet” then slide it onto a plate. Cover with the skillet and carefully invert them together so the other side of the cake is now facing down on the hot pan.5. Let it finish cooking briefly.6. Slice and enjoy. We love this smeared with slightly sweetened cream cheese/vanilla combo (make your own so you don’t have sugar in it) and chopped fresh strawberries on it. Or, melt some sugar-free chocolate chips and spread on it for a soft biscotti type treat.
I’m doing keto and this is a heck of a deal! I made all sorts of yummy desserts and keto breads. You can too! If it too grainy, just put in the coffee grinder.
Some of the reviews here seem to be for other Robin Hood flours — I’m reviewing the Gluten Free one. I’ve been buying it for my Mom and it’s working very well as a substitute for regular flour. No weird tastes (like the GF flours with all bean components etc). We’ll continue to use it.
My family has special diet needs, and we have just recently switched many of our recipes to almond flour due to a gluten free child and keto diets for others in the household. This almond flour was packaged nicely, with a convenient resealable top and the taste was great! We used for a couple of crusts at Christmas and for several other recipes and each one turned out perfect. I like how fine it is and feel it is of excellent quality. This will be going on my Prime Pantry auto ship list for sure!
I’ve used this to make a bunch of different Keto foods, including pizza crusts, cookies, pie crusts and pancakes, and all have turned out well. It has that almondy taste you would expect, but the fine grind on it helps to prevent lumps. If you’re looking for large amounts of almond flour for paleo/keto cooking, I would highly recommend!
Nature’s Eats is our go to for Almond Flour. We use it for a lot of different cooking uses because we have switched to a Keto diet. All I can tell you is that as a dude who likes food and has had to adjust his life due to diabetes, this is pretty darn good and lets me have baked goods that don’t taste like coconut. Also used with cheese to make pizza dough…yup, a diabetic can enjoy pizza without impacting sugar if they make it the right way (stay away from the all purpose flour); look it up!!
I love the fine texture of this flour. I make a lot of quick Keto breads in the microwave. I mix 1 T. almond flour, 1 T. coconut flour, 1 T. melted butter, 1 egg, 1/2 t. cream and 1/2 t. baking powder (arrowroot, baking soda and cream of tartar) and pour into a well greased, microwave safe container. Microwave 90 seconds and you have an easy “English muffin” ready in no time. Store in the freezer to keep fresh.
First recipe was gingerbread and it had a smooth, fine texture like white flour. Price was better than local bulk stores. Delivery saves time and gas. What’s not to like? Of course best of all it’s Keto friendly! …that’s mighty fine!
Great to get this product as organic less pesticides the better. Great for cakes etc but I use it fir making curries and so much flavour. I love almonds so yes will keep supporting organic products.
I am eating a low carb diet and this almond meal is a perfect addition for cooking. This is a wonderful deal for the money, and I will definitely be ordering it again.
I’ve bought a lot of almond flour since trying to cut carbs, and this is by far, consistently the best. The others I’ve tried have arrived clumpy/stringy (mealworms?); this has the best consistency and just seems to be of excellent quality. I use it to bake low-carb crackers, breads, cakes, muffins. It is easy to make your own almond flour with a food processor & raw almonds, and that would be cheaper. If you’re going to buy it ready-made, this brand is the best. It’s definitely better than the Bob’s R.M. you see in the grocery stores (though that brand does have other very good products).
Being on Keto I find it sustainable because I make my old favorite foods in a Keto friendly manner. Almond flour is probably one of the most important ingredients. Many Keto recipes call for almond flour, but not all almond flour is the same. I have tried 6 different brands and many leave your food gritty and dense!Blue Diamond nuts are my favorite and so is their almond flour. It has a great flavor and less grit. It is lighter in color and ground finer than many of its competitors. I have remade recipes I originally didn’t like and with this almond flour I liked. I don’t mind paying a little extra when the quality is so much better. I recommend this to anyone needing a good go to almond flour!
What a bargain for almond flour, If you are doing the low carb/keto it’s a heck of a deal, great shipping as well. I know I will be ordering this multiple times, wonder if they have coconut flour hmmmm off to bake I go hi ho hi ho……and since I started this review I have used this flour every day and it’s wonderful, this is my go to almond flour. Highly recommend.
Good product. I thought I’d ordered flour, but it didn’t matter as pretty much the same think as super finely ground & worked well for what I needed it for.
I make homemade cookies and cakes with this and it comes out so nice. Great flavour, not grainy or strange textures like other flours. I’ve fed my baking to gluten eaters and they’ve had no idea. They’ve done a great job on this blend. I’ve also used for savoury cooking and it all tastes great. Just wish it was available in bigger bags. It’s really hard to get measuring cups in to measure out. Not going to pour it out into cups, too messy. I’ve wrote the company with the suggestion of a bigger bag and the lady could’ve given a crap. Oh well lol tried.
I’m used to buying my almond flour at my local health food store but every time I went to purchase it they were always sold out or they have increase their price so I decided to give this product a try and I’m definitely not disappointed. I made keto zucchini chocolate chip muffins tonight and they were absolutely delicious. The almond flour is fine and easy to work with. I honestly can’t tell the difference from my regular brand except for the price! Tomorrow I’ll be making keto blueberry muffins and pumpkin cinnamon flax muffins so I guess I’ll be ordering another bag soon.
I bought sliced almonds because I enjoy eating it as snacks, and I received grounded almonds twice. I spent ink, paper, glue tape, fuel and time to return it, twice, even though it was not my fault. I must say that I am disappointed.
I bought this flower to try some keto recipes and really love the flavour. I made a batch of cookies for the first recipe which I made a video on YouTube called Carol’s cookies (The Walking Dead) for Halloween and they turned out superb. You can search for that title or my channel name is Curiosidades Extrano. I would definitely buy this product again and think if your are on a keto diet that you will enjoy using it. It came very quickly and was well packed. Yupik has some great products that I really enjoy and this is definitely one of them.
I love Trader Joe’s, so of course I had to buy their ground almond meal for my German cookie recipes—and they turned out beautifully. Great value on the 3-pack. Thank you!
Perfect product which I am beyond grateful for!! My son is allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts except almonds and coconut. I use the flour for everything and the almond butter is the best I’ve ever had!! I used these products on my breakfast board!
Though I wouldn’t call the texture of this almond flour more than “fine”, it is very nice and flavourful and is a great value. I will continue to use this for macarons, our Christmas kransekake, frangipane, marzipan, and to add to cakes to keep them moist. It may need a little drying in the oven if your bake requires a dry almond flour but that’s no biggie. It just shows how moist and beautiful this almond flour is. I will repeatedly buy this product from this seller as long as the price remains the best. 🙂
For medical reasons I am on a “no grain” diet. I discovered ground almonds/almond flour which I use to bake bread and cakes instead of wheat flour. Unfortunately this is much more expensive than normal flour. This is understandable as it must take a huge amount of almonds to make even a small bag of almond flour. I was pleased to discover those brands which are very good quality; This is my 2nd purchase and I will continue to buy this product. Recommended.PS. I have bought both almond flour and ground almonds and they seem identical to me. Is there any difference?
I’m going to be honest here. I make about 75% of my own Almond Meal & Almond Flour (and other Nut & Seed Flours). Sometimes, it’s just easier to purchase the ready made varieties. If making your own Almond Flour, you have to blanch the almonds, remove the skins, dry, then grind to a fine flour. Making Almond Meal is much easier.I prefer Almond Meal when making Breads & some types of Cookies & Brownies, because the meal has a nuttier texture. If you’re wanting to make Cakes, Pastries, Gravies, Sauces, Etc., then you really should lean more towards the Almond Flour. It makes a “lighter” finished product, which is more like traditional flours. You don’t want the heavier grainy effect you get with Almond Meal. When making Cakes and most baked goods, with Almond Flour, I use about 1/4 cup Coconut Flour to every 2 cups of Almond Flour, plus 2 teaspoons Xanthum gum (glucomannan or any gum) to help stabilize it. I usually make up a mix of:Almond Flour Baking Mix4 cups Almond Flour1/2 C. Coconut Flour1 1/2 T Glucomannan (or other gum)Put it in a vacuum sealed container for when you need it. Follow recipe, omitting coconut flour & gum, if called for. Here’s a quick little recipe you can make. If you want to make little Vanilla Mug-Cakes, “omit the Cocoa” & “double the Vanilla”.MAXIS CHOCOLATE MUG-CAKES (No Gluten, Eggs, Dairy or Sugar)2 Cups Almond Flour Baking Mix (Recipe Above)1 Cup Stevia3 TBSP Cocoa1 tsps. dark cocoa (optional-like Hershey’s powdered)1 tsps. Baking Soda3/4 tsps. Sea SaltWhisk Above Together. Then add:1/4 Cup Coconut Oil (melted)1 tsps. Vanilla1 tsps. Vinegar1 Cup Water or Nut Milk (room temperature)Mix everything together and place into 5 Ramekins or Mugs. Put onto a plate and into the Microwave. Depending on the wattage of your microwave, it should take from about 3 to 5 minutes. If they aren’t quite done, put them back in for 30 second intervals. They don’t take long. As an icing, I like to mix up some Powdered Peanut Butter (regular or chocolate, with a little nut milk and spread on top).Thank you for reading my review. If you found this review helpful, please let me know and feel free to ask if you have questions or comments!
Never tried this brand but with covid19 and all flours are gone i went with ordering this product online. I love it!! My macarons came out perfect. When i sifted i usually have pretty big pieces left behind (which is why you sift) there were no large pieces of almond left in the sifter. Will definitely be ordering again!
excellant flour and I can bread rolls used for sandwiches and such instead of regular flour that had gluten and changes to sugar in my body. this is part of a Ketp diet that Sometimes follow but love this bread.
Produce is good but the packaging is now plastic and is not compostable anymore 🙁
Great. I use this for low carb baking and cooking. Perfect for diabetics and/or low carb diets.
Although it’s not the best quality almond flour I have tried, the NOW Foods one serves it’s purpose successfully for gluten free recipes (my favorite to this day is the Bob’s Red Mill one).I prefer the unblanched almond flour because it adds more texture and flavor, but others might like better a blanched version (especially for delicate recipes requiring the finest flour).Otherwise I have used it alone or in combination with other flours and starches (coconut, cassava, arrowroot) and I liked the results. Works for pancakes, waffles, mug muffins, cupcakes, pie crust, quiches, breads. I use it to replace breadcrumbs and I sometimes mix it in my oatmeal. It barely has any flavor. The flour has some oiliness, I highly recommend storing it the freezer. It tends to clump, but the clumps break down easily. Otherwise, the almond flour was pretty fresh. While I like that the NOW Foods packaging is recyclable through Terracycle, the bag is made of poor quality plastic. Furthermore, the ziploc enclosure breaks down easily; you just need to transfer the content in other container or use a bag clip.Note: Don’t plan to buy this for long term storage. Items received in July and November 2020 had `best-by` date May 2021.
I just got into making macarons, up to this point I have been making my own almond flour by grinding blanched almonds with confectioner’s sugar. Out of curiosity to see if there would be a visible difference in my shells if I had used this instead. There absolutely was! My shells came out smoother and shiny at the top, before it would be a little bumpy probably because my almond flour wasn’t as fine. Using this also saves a lot of time and hassle.
I bought this to make macarons however all of my batches came out with splotchy shells (the flour was the only new factor) so my guess is that the flour in my pack was too oily. Will hopefully find other uses for this but good value for money overall.
This was my first buy of almond flour ever but I wanted to make a Christmas dessert that would be diabetic-friendly. It was a total success–a cherry crisp. The almond taste of the flour blended perfectly. Very happy with this purchase and will buy more flour.
My wife loves this brand, and both quality and the portion are thumb-up. The only reason to give 4 stars instead of 5 for this product is the zipper-top closure. It should be reclosable, but as you can see from attached pictures, the zipper broke as soon as we open the package. I had to use the paper clip instead. Still highly recommended!!
One of the main ingredients for the French Epiphany cake. Very good price and excellent quality. Highly recommended.
Flavor add texture are very nice; not identical to wheat four, maybe a little denser but not gritty or tough. It measured, mixed, and cooked (and ate!) perfectly in pancakes. It didn’t have a ‘falafel’ taste like bean flours, just a very mild almond/coconut flavor that I might not notice if I didn’t know that’s what it was. Very nice!
perfect for baking wheat free recipes1
Have been using this almond flour for a while now and it bakes up great. Occasionally have to add a little all-purpose flour to give it a little more body, maybe 1/2 cup per 2 cups almond flour. Am sold on this.
Bought this for our teen daughter to make macarons, the quality is much improved over other brands that we’ve tried. King Arthur Baking Co. doesn’t disappoint, we’re sold!
Bob’s Red Mill is a very good product. I use his other products as well. Very satisfied.
I use a lot of almond flour for baking and normally buy another brand. I read online about Kirkland almond flour and people praised it.I found this almond flour not to be as finely ground as my normal brand, and the muffins I made with it were grainier than I’m accustomed to.
It is so hard to find the super fine almond flour in the store. This specific flour looks like regular flour. It is so fine you can barely tell it is made from almonds. Will buy this again!
We made fat dough bagels and buns and almond cookies when we first got it…..excellent results. Also made a few other items the next day and this product lived up to expectations of the results.
Good quality flour and generous amount. Only downside – the bag could be less flimsy, otherwise what’s more to say. other than it arrived swiftly.
I bought at least 5 or 6 different almond flours and I find this one to have the finest texture and excellent for baking and highly recommend it.
Very good but no made for baking specially bread.
Great Product, fine flower that taste great!
Good quality and very well grounded flour. We bought this one because previously had tried others not really well grounded. If that is an issue for you, get this one.
GREAT FOR KETO LOW CARB COOKING.
Wow! I’m celiac and over the years have bought many brands of almond flour. This is by far the nicest. It is very finely ground and has a subtle almond flavor that many brands lack. Having seen the high quality of it, I’m now planning to use it for some special baking.
Not as fine as the label says. Actually quite coarse. I guess one company’s “fine” is another’s company “ coarse”But tastes ok though.
Better than using ground almonds, much finer. Used in various recipes
Perfect
People who are Gluten-Sensitive, this is one of the perfect flours for you.I actually prefer it over other Gluten Free flours.I also love Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Products.
I didn’t have any issues with the shipping, the seal for the bag works fine and there’s no problem with the product.
Very good quality almond flour for the price paid. Very fine. You do lose a bit of flavour vs diy grind but very useful when you’re lazy. I use a pan to heat it for a few mins. Made some “Macanese” almond biscuits with it
Taste and freshness were perfect.Item arrived sooner than expected so that’s always a plus!I used flour to make a keto pumpkin pie shell for thanksgiving and it was terrific! I actually now prefer the nutty shell versus a regular all-purpose flower shell. It gave the pie more texture and i’m all about that!
i’m not sure if this is a fluke or if all their almond flour is like this. i would not recommend this for macarons. the flour is not finely ground. after sifting, there was a lot of left over large pieces of almond about 40% could not pass through the sifter. I’ve used costco before and never had this amount of left over almond. this is more like almond meal. i think in other baked goods this is fine but not for macarons. also the almond flour is very oily, clumped up quite a bit. for the price i was expecting better. i’d stick to costco almond flour.
I like this Almond flour, very good !
Good quality taste and as expected. We have been trying various brands. Usually clicking on not just the cheapest one, but the cheapest one with good reviews. This one did not disappoint and definitely is 5 stars from us!
I made lemon blueberry muffins with this almond flour and they turned out delicious.Keep in mind that almond flour is a little more crumbly, more dense and less fluffy than regular flour. You can see in the picture that almond flour doesn’t rise the same as wheat flours.Almond flour is my go to flour, it is a healthy alternative to wheat flour and it is gluten free.
my local store has consistently been out of almond flour which is an essential in my gluten free diet. with the pandemic I was not free to look elsewhere and turned to online shop. The price product was unbelievably low and I was concerned it might be old stock. I decided to take a chance. I am pleased to say it was perfectly fresh. I’m pleased to say it is a nice fine grind and there are no residual skins or other “brown bits” as I have come across in other almond flours.
I bake alot of macarons and I must say this was not the perfect ground almonds but it was good, I have used better but I have also used worse, just need to sieve it an extra few times. But overall good price for the amount you get.
For lack of finding my usual almond flour I bought this product. Very good product as are usually the products of this brand. Too bad they are so expensive!
